WhatsApp Introduces 1-Minute Voice Status Updates and AI-Generated Profile Pictures

WhatsApp launches New features for sharing longer voice messages as status updates. This new feature is available on iPhone and Android versions of the app. It lets users record voice notes up to one minute long and share them as status updates.

Longer Voice Status Updates on WhatsApp

Before this update, WhatsApp allowed users to share voice notes as status updates, but these notes could only be up to 30 seconds long. Now, with the new update, users can record and share voice notes that are up to one minute long. This makes it easier for users to share longer messages without having to split them into multiple parts.

How to Record and Send a Voice Status Update

Here’s how you can record and send a voice status update on WhatsApp:

  1. Open WhatsApp: Go to your WhatsApp app.
  2. Tap the Updates Tab: Go to the Updates tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap the Plus or Pencil Icon: Tap the icon to create a new status update.
  4. Hold the Microphone Icon: In the bottom right corner, you will see a microphone icon. Press and hold it, then start speaking. If the beginning of your message isn’t recorded, wait a second before speaking.
  5. Release the Microphone Icon: When you’ve finished recording, remove your finger from the microphone icon.
  6. Listen and Share: You can listen to the audio before sharing it as a status update.

New AI-Generated Pictures Feature

WhatsApp is also working on a new feature that allows users to create AI-generated profile pictures. This feature will let users create personalized images using artificial intelligence (AI) that match their interests, personalities, and moods.
